The idea of setting up the Surrogate Motherhood Center was brought forward by Vladislav I. Kononenko, the well-known scientist, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Head of Forensic Medical Examination Department at the Kharkov State Medical University, Honored Science Worker of Ukraine.

The idea of the famous scholar was brought into life by Victoria O. Chuprinova, his disciple and follower, doctor and lawyer, a person of broad opinions and great erudition, a woman of action, bold decisions and great energy. She made a careful study of the information about problems of infertility and, which is especially important, as regards its most severe cases where application of IVF methods and participation of a surrogate mother in the child carrying process appears to be the only decision. As a result of this effort, the Surrogacy Motherhood Center was established.

The surrogacy agency  is formed by the group of competent specialists whose principal goal is to do everything in their power to make the dream of married couples come true and assist them in giving birth to children of their own in those cases where the reproduction function of at least one spouse is disturbed.

The work carried out by the Surrogate Motherhood Center is as follows:

First, informing all surrogacy program participants of every aspect of the reproductive auxiliary medicine process to be followed by all its participants, i.e. genetic parents and surrogate mothers.

In this case, all kinds of “reefs” should be taken into account and predicted, both genetic parents and their surrogate mothers should be assisted in getting ready for them and facing them, which is the task and responsibility of the specialists and managers of the Surrogate Motherhood Center.

Genetic parents should also be provided with a wide choice of surrogate mother candidates from the database of the Surrogate Motherhood Center.

Second, both the customers (genetic parents) and the providers (surrogate mothers) will be given, whenever necessary, thorough consultations for the purpose of correction of the psychological condition of program participants, effective solution of legal and organizational issues.

Third, the surrogacy agency carries out coordination of knowledge, skills, abilities and effort of all program participants: genetic parents, surrogate mother, specialists and medical facilities of the “SANA-Med” Reproduction Clinic, specialists of the Center (psychologists, lawyers, interpreters, curators, couriers, managers) with a view to achieving the principal aim – birth of a healthy, long-expected and welcome child.
